Operations Supervisor 2nd/3rd Shift

Responsible for leading and directing the 2nd and 3rd shift Materials and Maintenance Departments. Ensure that the material and maintenance needs of the service center are met and expedited in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
This position will interact with all employees including management, safety, human resources, quality, corporate representatives, customers, vendors, and contractors. This is a high demanding position in a fast past environment. The impact of this position on the business is very important as it ensures that daily safety, quality, production, environmental and cost goals are achieved. The person in this position will have a high level of interaction with hourly employees throughout the daily schedule. The decisions made by the person filling this position are of a highly technical nature, and in the mid to high range of complexity and independent judgment as relates to the facility maintenance and materials operations. This position’s primary functions are conducted in accordance with established policy and principles. This position has approximately 7-10 hourly employees reporting to it. This position will require the oversite of hourly employees on 2nd and 3rd shift. The start and end times of the shift may be flexible in order to best perform this responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs, and supervises 2nd and 3rd shift facility maintenance in accordance with priority goals and availability of resources to support production activities at the facility. Ensures daily maintenance calls and issues are addressed and resolved.
- Lead the overall 2nd and 3rd shift operation of the material department including shipping, receiving, and disbursement of all material and supplies.
- Uses technical experience, expertise and problem solving ability to resolve facility maintenance issues and help drive continuous improvement. Maintains an effective work force by training, counseling and motivating agreement workers.
- Ensure that all required material reporting is completed in a timely manner and coordinates this with all necessary personnel levels.
- Ensure that all necessary maintenance and material related administrative work is complete and accurate.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s or associate’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in inventory management and/or facility maintenance
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous railcar experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

- Physical ability to inspect/supervise facility maintenance and material activities.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperature environments

As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:
Min
USD $68,600.00/Yr.
Max
USD $79,000.00/Yr.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
