Covered Hoppers
At GATX, we offer an assortment of covered hoppers to give you the flexibility to transport your products how you see fit.
Our covered hoppers range from 2,700 to 6,500cf with gross weight capacities from 263,000 to 286,000 pounds and feature different types of unloading mechanisms including gravity, pneumatic, fluidized, pressure-differential, and sparger equipped. We also offer the option for unlined or interior lined cars. With unlined cover hoppers, you can transport products such as cement, roofing granules, sand, minerals, and grain products. Interior linings can be applied for protection and to help you accommodate other commodities like fertilizer, plastics, food-grade products, and certain chemicals.
