Our boxcars are designed to handle a wide range of commodities
GATX boxcars can carry a range of commodities including paper products, lumber and forest goods, canned goods, packaged industrial goods, and food products.
We offer plug or sliding, single or double doors with a cushioned or non-cushioned underframe and insulated or non-insulated interiors. We can also outfit these railcars with various interior loading mechanisms to secure loads and special linings for food-grade products.
We have boxcars available in 50- and 60-foot lengths, with loading capacities ranging from 70 to 105 tons and gross rail capacities of 220,000 to 286,000 pounds.
